Japanese manufacturer Nissan is recalling 3,930 2002-2006 Sentra vehicles that are potentially equipped with the infamous Takata airbag inflators. These inflators can explode during a crash and fling “sharp metal fragments” into the vehicle’s occupants, injuring or killing them. Until your car is fixed, do not allow passengers to sit in the front seat.

American car maker General Motors is set to recall close to 6 million SUVs and pickup trucks because of potentially lethal Takata airbags. The inflators on the airbags may explode, flinging deadly shrapnel into vehicle occupants.

Volvo Car USA – which is owned by Chinese multinational auto company Geely – has recalled over 54,000 2001-2003 S60 and S80 luxury sedans because of airbag troubles. The airbag inflator in the recalled vehicles can rupture during deployment, putting the driver and passenger at risk of being hurt by a projectile of metal fragments.

Takata airbag recall now affects 4 more Audi models. Defective airbags can inflate with excessive force and contain shrapnel.

BMW is recalling certain 2007 – 2012 vehicles equipped with faulty airbags that could possibly explode when placed under heat and humidity.

BMW of North America is recalling 1999-2001 323i, 325i, 328i and 330i and 2000-2001 323Ci, 325Ci, 328Ci, 330Ci, 323iT, and 325iT vehicles equipped with Takata manufactured Non-Azide Driver air bag Inflators (NADI).

Toyota and Infiniti are recalling more than 928,200 models of various types due to concerns that the air bags installed may explode upon deployment in a crash.

BMW of North America recently announced that it’s pulling over 3,900 models from the marketplace due to the potential that the installed air bags are compromised

Honda is recalling specific Acura; ILX Hybrid, MDX, RDX, 3.2TL, TL, ZDX, and Honda; Accord, Civic, Civic Hybrid, Civic GX NGV, CR-V, Element, Fit, Odyssey, Pilot and Ridgeline vehicles. Because of a manufacturing error, the front driver air bag may explode during a crash.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. recalls certain 2015 Passat, 2015-2016 Eos, 2015-2017 CC, 2016-2017 TT Roadster, TT Coupe, 2017 Audi R8 Coupe, and R8 Spyder vehicles. This is part of a vast and ongoing scheduled recall of vehicles with Takata airbags.
