Rivian recalls cars that may become difficult to handle

Plymouth, MI – January 29, 2025 – Rivian (NASD:RIVN) is recalling 19,641 electric trucks and SUVs because they may become difficult to drive due to a suspension issue. The defect ups the risk of a crash and injury.

The following models are affected:

  • 2022 –  2025 Rivian R1T
  • 2022 –  2025 Rivian R1S

Recall summary

A toe link is a part of the automotive suspension that holds the wheels at the correct angle so that the vehicle goes where the driver steers it, as reported. In the affected vehicles, the rear toe link’s bolts were reassembled improperly during service. This can cause the toe link to separate while driving.

Recall risks

A separated toe link makes the vehicle less stable and difficult to control. In fact, the recall comes on the heels of a crash with “minor injuries.”

Other Rivian recalls

In July 2025, Rivian recalled nearly 28,000 electric trucks and SUVs whose turn signals could have failed to engage.

The repair

The dealers will replace toe link bolts free of charge.

Notifications to the owners will be mailed by February 24, 2026.
