Nissan recalls expands Rogue recall over stall and fire risk

Franklin, TN – March 17, 2026 – Nissan (OTCMKTS:NSANY) is recalling 323,917 2023 –2025 Nissan Rogue SUVs that may stall while driving or even burst into flames. This defect ups the risk of a crash and injury.

This is an expansion of a similar recall from August 2025.

Recall summary

The engine’s internal moving parts have bearings that make their movement smoother. In the affected vehicles, insufficient lubrication may lead to bearing failure, causing catastrophic engine failure and oil leaks. The oil may then ignite and cause a fire.

Recall risks

An engine failure would cause vehicle stalling, increasing the risk of a crash, especially in dense traffic. A fire would greatly up the risk of injury or loss of life.

Warning signs

Before the engine fails, the driver may notice abnormal sounds, vibrations and “rough running,”  accompanied by the malfunction indicator light (MIL) and warning messages on the dashboard.

Other Nissan recalls

In February 2026, Nissan recalled more than 26,000 vehicles whose doors could have opened while driving

In October 2025, approximately 19,000 Nissan Leaf EVs were recalled because they could have caught fire while charging.

The repair

The dealers will update the engine’s software, test drive the vehicle, and, in some cases, inspect the oil pan for metal debris. Should these tests prove the engine is damaged, it will be replaced. This repair will be free of charge.

Notifications to the owners will be mailed by March 27, 2026.
