Toyota recalls Tacoma trucks that may stall or roll away

Plano, TX – October 19, 2025 – Toyota (NYSE: TM) is recalling 5,960 pickup trucks that may lose their motive power or roll away when parked. This defect ups the chances of a crash and injury, or property damage.

The following models are affected:

  • 2025 Toyota Tacoma
  • 2025 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid

Recall summary

The driveshaft is a drivetrain component that transfers power from the transmission to the wheels. Due to a supplier error, the front driveshafts of the affected vehicles are not sturdy enough and may snap under load.

Recall risks

The truck may lose propulsion or roll away when parked if the parking brake is not engaged. Both situations increase the likelihood of a crash, resulting in injury or property damage.
