Franklin, TN – August 27, 2026 – Nissan (OTCMKTS:NSANY) is recalling 5,283 2026 Nissan Rogue crossover SUVs that may roll away or experience “unintended movement.”

The defect augments the risk of an accident and injury to the car occupants and people around the vehicle.

Recall summary

In the affected vehicles, the transmission may fail to communicate with the engine. As a result, the instrument panel may not show the transmission gear indicator.

Operating the vehicle without knowing what gear it is in may cause the car to roll away or move unexpectedly.

The defect is a consequence of a hardware failure within the transmission control valve. The latter is a major component that regulates transmission fluid flow to allow the driver to shift gears.

Recall risks

The rollaway could cause an accident and injure the car occupants and pedestrians.

Warning signs

The check engine light and a warning message will illuminate on the vehicle dashboard if the failure occurs. 

Other Nissan recalls

In June 2026, 52,000 Nissan Kicks SUVs were recalled over blank instrument clusters, as reported.

In March 2026, 2023-2025 Rogue SUVs were recalled because of the risk of them stalling or catching fire, also as reported.

The repair

The dealers will replace the transmission control valve free of charge.

Notifications to the owners will be mailed by August 19, 2026.
