Torrance, CA – August 4, 2026 – Honda (NYSE:HMC) is recalling 325,588 2018-2020 Odyssey minivans that may fail to display a rearview camera image. The defect diminishes visibility while backing up, upping the chances of an accident.
The recall appears to be a replacement and an expansion of a similar one conducted back in 2020.
Recall summary
Water may get into the rearview cameras of the affected vehicles due to a flawed manufacturing process and a design deficiency. The ingress can cause the camera image to not display properly when backing up.
Recall risks
A lack of rearview camera image when reversing limits visibility, upping the chances of a crash, injury or property damage.
Other Honda recalls and investigations
The model-years listed in this recall are also part of two separate U.S. government investigations due to complaints of these and other Honda vehicles stalling or catching fire, as reported.

The repair
Dealers will replace the rearview camera free of charge.
The owners should receive letters with more information by August 24, 2026.
Background of the recall
Honda recalled over 212,000 2019 and 2020 model-years back in August 2020, as reported. However, in June 2021, the manufacturer received a report of a faulty rearview camera on one of the repaired vehicles, which sparked an internal investigation.
In 2026, it concluded that more vehicles than previously thought were affected by the defect, which led to the present recall. Additionally, it appears that at least some of the vehicles that were previously repaired may need a new remedy.
