Toyota recalls Tacoma pickups over reduced braking

Plano, TX – February 25, 2025 – Toyota (NYSE: TM) is recalling 106,061 2024-2025 Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks over brake issues that can elongate stopping distances. This ups the risk of an injury.

Recall summary

The vehicle’s brake system uses hydraulic fluid to transfer the force to the brakes when the driver presses the brake pedal. The fluid is then transported to the brake calipers by the means of a hose located inside the rear wheels

In the affected vehicles, “mud and dirt” that gets into the wheels can damage the hose and cause a leak.

This makes the brakes less effective.

Recall risks

Reduced brake capability increases stopping distance, augmenting the risk of a crash and injury.
