Auburn Hills, MI – August 6, 2026 – Stellantis (NYSE:STLA), which owns the RAM brand, is recalling 12,592 2026 RAM 1500 pickups whose headlights may not illuminate. This defect makes the vehicle harder for other drivers to spot, increasing the risk of a crash and injury.
Recall summary
The daytime running lights (DRLs) and parking lights on the affected vehicles may flicker or not turn on at all. The issue is caused by faulty headlight assembly wiring due to a supplier error.
Recall risks
Other drivers may fail to notice an approaching vehicle with inoperable DRLs or parking lights and crash into it.
Warning signs
Drivers may notice that the front DRLs are off or see a warning message on the dashboard.
Other RAM recalls
In February 2026, nearly half a million RAMs and Jeeps were recalled because their trailer lights and brakes would fail to engage.
The repair
The dealers will replace the headlights free of charge once the parts become available. It is not clear when that is set to occur.
