Dearborn, MI – May 30, 2025 – Ford (NYSE:F) is recalling 9,181 2025 Ford F-150 pickup trucks whose steering mechanisms may fall apart. This flaw ups the chances of a crash and injury
Recall summary
The steering wheel is connected to the steering mechanism with a shaft. In the affected trucks, this shaft may detach from the steering mechanism as a result of a manufacturing error.
Recall risks
If the steering shaft separates from the steering mechanism, it will be difficult – if not impossible – to control the vehicle, which can lead to a crash.
Warning signs
Before the shaft separates completely, the driver may notice rattling noises coming from the front of the vehicle or excessive “play” in the steering wheel.
Other Ford recalls

In April 2025, Ford recalled the Bronco and Maverick SUVs over a software issue with their batteries that could have caused them to stall.
The repair
The dealers will replace the shaft’s fasteners free of charge.
The owners should receive letters with more information between May 26, 2025 and May 28, 2025.
