Warren, MI – June 19, 2025 – General Motors (NYSE:GM), which owns the Cadillac brand, is recalling 41,376 2023-2024 Cadillac Lyriq electric SUVs whose video displays may go blank.
This would leave the driver without vital information and up the risk of a crash.
Recall summary
The listed SUVs have a single video display that shows all driving and vehicle-related information, including a speedometer and warning lights, as well as an image from the rearview camera while reversing.
In the affected vehicles, the display may go blank due to a software error, depriving the driver of all this data.
Recall risks
If the speedometer is not working, the driver is more likely to drive faster than allowed. A missing rearview camera image reduces visibility while backing up.
Both situations increase the risk of a crash and injury.
Other Cadillac recalls
In July 2024, Cadillac XT5 and XT6 SUVs were recalled over blank instrument clusters, also caused by a software error.
The repair
GM will launch an over-the-air (OTA) software update for cars capable of receiving them. Drivers who do not have that capability enabled will need to visit their dealers to have the update performed. In either case, there will be no cost for the service.
The owners should receive their notifications by July 14, 2025.
