Subaru recalls new Forester SUVs over stability concerns

Camden, NJ – February 14, 2025 – Subaru (OTCMKTS:FUJHY) is recalling 20,366 2025 Subaru Forester SUVs whose wheels were not properly attached to the car. This defect makes the vehicle less stable, upping the risk of a crash and injury.

Only cars with 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels are affected by this problem.

Recall summary

The affected vehicles’ wheels were made with incorrect lug seat surfaces which are areas where the wheel bolts – also called lug nuts – contact the wheel.

This makes the car less stable.

Recall risks

A vehicle whose stability is impaired is more likely to be involved in an accident, which ups the risk of an injury.

In April 2024, Subaru recalled Legacy and Outback models because their airbags could fail to deploy in a crash, as reported.

In December 2023, an issue with the rearview camera and reverse light caused a recall that affected the Crosstrek and Forester cars

The repair

Dealers will check all four wheels and replace any that were manufactured incorrectly free of charge.
