Recall summary
All affected vehicles have a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) that displays a 360° image of its surroundings. Due to a PVM software issue, the rearview camera may freeze or fail to show an image.
You can find the full list of recalled vehicles here.
Recall risks
With no rearview image to aid visibility while backing up, the driver is more likely to crash into surrounding objects or pedestrians.
Other Toyota recalls
In October 2025, Toyota recalled nearly 6,000 Tacoma pickup trucks over the risk of a rollaway.
In September 2025, approximately 95,000 Toyota, Lexus and Subaru EVs were recalled because their windshields could fog up.
The repair
The dealers will update the PVM software free of charge as an interim remedy.
Notifications to the owners will be mailed between December 16, 2025 and December 31, 2025. Another letter will be mailed once the final remedy is available. It is not clear what that will be.
