Tata Motors expands recall for Range Rover SUVs whose front suspension may disintegrate

Mahwah, NJ – August 28, 2025 – Tata Motors (NYSE:TTM), which owns Jaguar Land Rover, is recalling 121,509 SUVs because their front suspension may fail. This defect makes the vehicle unstable and difficult to control, upping the chances of a crash and injury.

The following models are affected:

  • 2014 – 2017 Land Rover Range Rover
  • 2014 – 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

This is an expansion of a previous recall from November 2024, and vehicles recalled on that occasion will need a new remedy.

Recall summary

In the affected vehicles the knuckle that connects the wheel assembly to the suspension may break. This can result in a loss of front suspension.

Recall risks

A broken front suspension makes the vehicle unstable and difficult to steer, which can lead to a crash.

Previous recall

Over 16,000 cars were recalled for this issue in November of last year. Following that, the manufacturer noticed an “elevated rate of failure” for cars that were not included in the original recall and decided to conduct a wider one.

Other Range Rover recalls

In July 2025, approximately 6,500 Range Rover SUVs were recalled because their airbags could tear during deployment

The repair

The dealers will either reinforce the knuckles with an additional bracket or replace them. Either repair will be carried out free of charge.

The owners should receive letters with more information by September 30, 2025.
