Auburn Hills, MI – June 4, 2026 – Volkswagen (OTCMKTS:VWAGY) is recalling 38,710 2025-2026 Volkswagen Taos compact SUVs that may develop a fuel leak in a crash. This defect ups the risk of a fire and injury.
Recall summary
A gas tank has several sensors – including the fuel pressure sensor – fitted on its top side. Due to a supplier error, the pressure sensor’s wiring in the affected cars is too short and may pull the sensor out of the tank in case of a rear-end collision. This would cause a fuel leak.
Recall risks
The leak may result in a vehicle fire, significantly upping the risk of injury.

The repair
