Fountain Valley, CA – October 2, 2025 – Hyundai (OTCMKTS:HYMTF) is recalling 31,042 2023-2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric cars whose charging port door panels may fall off while driving. This would create a road hazard, upping the chances of a crash and injury.
Recall summary
The charging port door panels on the affected EVs were not be fitted correctly and could fly off while driving.
Recall risks
A fly-away charging port panel may land on the road, where other motorists might crash while trying to avoid it.
Warning signs
The driver may notice that the charging port door appears loose when opening it.
Other Hyundai recalls
In March 2025, Hyundai recalled more than 30,000 Genesis vehicles over malfunctioning instrument clusters.
In December 2024, almost a quarter of a million Hyundai cars and SUVs were recalled because their rearview cameras could have failed to show an image.
The repair
Dealers will repair the charging port doors free of charge.
Letters to the owners should be mailed on November 10, 2025.
