Stellantis recalls Jeep Wagoner SUVs over fly-away trim

Auburn Hills, MI – March 29, 2026 – Stellantis (NYSE:STLA), which owns the Jeep brand, is recalling 11,767 2024-2026 Jeep Wagoneer S SUVs whose trim may detach while driving.

This creates a road hazard for other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash and injury.

Recall summary

The liftgate hinges have plastic covers to improve the vehicle’s aerodynamics and appearance. On the affected SUVs, the hinge covers may be loose and could fly off while driving.

Recall risks

A detached plastic cover may become road debris and cause an accident.

Warning signs

The driver may hear a rattling noise while driving or notice that the hinge cover is not seated correctly.

Other Jeep recalls

In March 2026, Jeep recalled more than 80,000 Grand Cherokee SUVs whose rear suspensions could have collapsed while driving.

In December 2025, approximately 110,000 hybrid Jeeps were recalled over a stall and fire risk.

The repair

Dealers will replace liftgate hinge covers free of charge.

Notifications to the owners will be mailed by May 1, 2026.

Recall summary

The affected vehicles have a dedicated trailer tow module that controls the trailer’s taillights, brake lights, turn signals and brakes.

The module may malfunction, rendering all the lights and the brakes on the trailer inoperable.

Recall risks

Other motorists may not be aware of the driver’s intention if the taillights are not working, while inoperable brakes make the trailer more difficult to control. Both situations increase the chances of a crash and injury.
