Dearborn, MI – September 17, 2026 – Ford (NYSE:F) is recalling 86,543 2023-2025 Mustang Mach-E SUVs whose window trim may detach and land on the road. This would create road debris, increasing the risk of an accident for other vehicles.
Recall summary
The supplier of the “rear side quarter glass window trim” reduced the installation time of the said trim. This resulted in “insufficient time for a trim primer” to cure, leading to its detachment.
Recall risks
The road debris created by the trim may cause an accident for other motorists on the road.
Warning signs
Owners may notice squeaking or rattling sounds, as well as “wind noise” as the trim starts peeling off.
Other Mustang recalls
Mustang Mach-E vehicles were last recalled in February 2026 over a failure of multiple lights, including high- and low beams, as reported.
More recently, in August 2026, Mustang and Mustang GTD cars were recalled over faulty windshield wipers, also as reported.
The repair
Dealers will replace the window trim free of charge. Owners will be notified about the recall by September 10, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the new trim is available. The manufacturer does not specify when that is supposed to happen.
