Fountain Valley, CA – February 19, 2026 – Hyundai (OTCMKTS:HYMTF), which owns the Genesis brand, is recalling 83,877 vehicles whose dashboards may go blank while driving. This defect ups the chances of a crash and injury.
The following models are affected:
- 2026 Genesis GV60
- 2026 Genesis GV70
- 2025 – 2026 Genesis G80
- 2025 – 2026 Genesis GV80
- 2026 Genesis GV70 Electrified
- 2026 Genesis G80 Electrified
Recall summary
The instrument cluster and the infotainment system in the affected vehicles may go blank while driving due to a software error.
Recall risks
The driver will not be able to see vital information, such as vehicle speed and fuel level, which significantly augments the risk of a crash and injury.
Safety tips
Owners are advised “disable the HD radio feature while driving” until the vehicle is repaired.
Other Hyundai recalls
In January 2025, Hyundai recalled more than 50,000 Tucson SUVs over the risk of fire due to an electric short, as reported.
In December 2025, more than 250,000 Hyundai and Kia sedans were also recalled over the risk of fire caused by a leaking fuel tank.
The repair
Owners who have opted in to receive software updates through Genesis Connected Services will receive an over-the-air (OTA) update to the instrument cluster software. Those who have not will need the update performed by the dealership.
There will be no cost for the service.
Notifications to the owners will be mailed by March 16, 2026.
